I always knew the Amercians were somewhat challenged in the spelling
department but this takes it to new highs (or should that be lows?).
Well I'm not an American, but it amazes me the number of English people
who don't seem to have the letter "t" in their alphabet when they're
speaking.
They pronounce it, but they pronounce it as a glottal stop. It's still
a sound that's distinct from "p" or "k" or "d" or "th".
Post by William PoasterThey also pronounce "saw" as "sor" etc.
That's the "intrusive R", as in "Laura Norder". I find it ugly, but
I've given up fighting against it. Even BBC Radio 3 announcers use it
nowadays.
Anyway, never mind all that. How the hell does one acquire a
"ubuntu-intrepid.eu" address?
